Roncy Gardener: A neighbourhood garden fan club

For those of you who don’t get the pun of Roncy Gardener, check out Being There a novel by Polish writer Jerzy Kosinski or the film version starring Peter Sellers as “Chauncey Gardner”.

It’s my tip of the hat to the generation of Polish gardeners living in Roncesvalles during the ’80s: informally competing for the best rose garden set off by a manicured lawn. Thankfully, the current generation is branching out and off the grass, so to speak.
